On the 31st of August 2018, my friends and I attended the Royal Floria Putrajaya’s 10th anniversary. The event was held from the 25th of August to the 2nd of September 2018 at Anjung Floria event centre, Precinct 4, Putrajaya, Malaysia.
While this event took place several years ago, I decided to share my experience at the event. The Royal Floria Putrajaya is an annual event. So if you’ve never been to one but are interested in visiting it someday, this article might interest you. Keep reading.
Exploring Royal Floria Putrajaya
It was a public holiday – in conjunction with Malaysia’s independence day – so my friends (Jesseca and Johnny) and I attended the Royal Floria Putrajaya’s 10th anniversary together. We bought our tickets online for just RM12; they’re cheaper than walk-in tickets.
The Royal Floria Putrajaya is Malaysia’s largest flower and garden festival. It’s a yearly event, suitable for people from all walks of life, especially families with young children.
The event’s highlights that year were as follows:
- entrance statement
- wonder garden
- royal garden
- miniature garden
- fertigation garden
- international dialogue
Many flowers and other plants were sold there, with some selling for over RM100. We saw hibiscus, bougainvillaea, rose, heliconia, orchid, cactus and more.

We got hungry after only 30 minutes of exploring the event. Fortunately, there was an indoor food court with food and beverage stalls. We bought steamed groundnuts, ayam goreng kunyit, char kuey teow, and fruit juices. As expected, food was slightly more expensive at the exhibition. But at least we enjoyed our food and drinks.

Apart from flowers and plants, we also saw honey for sale.

Then, we walked into an indoor space where we saw many beautiful bonsai plants, wood and flower decorations crafted by talented people from all around Malaysia and the world.

Since we came in the evening, fewer people were at the event. There were probably more people during the day.

I’m glad we were there in the evening, just in time to catch the sunset. At night, we took some photos by the lake.

And we continued to explore the area and saw more flowers.

At about 9 pm, we stopped by one of the big tents to watch a group of local musicians singing Malay and English songs. It was quite entertaining.
We didn’t stay long because we were thirsty. So, we went around looking for drinks after that.
It was already about 10 pm when we got our drinks. We decided that it was time to leave. Before leaving the event, Jesseca dropped by one of the outdoor stalls to buy a chilli tree.

As for me, I bought ‘keropok lekor’ (a fish cracker snack originating from Terengganu) and had it in the car on our way back home. I was so impressed by it that I couldn’t stop talking about its tastiness. In the car, I repeatedly said in Malay, ‘Keropok Lekor sepatutnya begini’, which meant, ‘This is how Keropok Lekor should be’. It’s not always easy to find good ones outside of Terengganu, so I was so happy to find one that blew me away.
Overall, we enjoyed ourselves at the 2018 Royal Floria Putrajaya. Perhaps we would go there again but in the morning.

Would I Visit the Royal Floria Putrajaya Again?
I would visit the Royal Floria Putrajaya again if I had a chance to attend it for the second time. The event is especially great for people who enjoy looking at plants and beautiful decorations. It’s also a great place to spend time with friends and families.
As discussed, the event is held once a year. This year, the event took place from the 29th of August to the 4th of September 2022. If you didn’t get to visit it, there’s always next year!
